Life Of An Adventurer

Roo and I would like to wish everybody good morning! ... See MoreSee Less

I thought that it would be a good thing to start making a list of the cooking items that I plan to take on my Life Of An Adventurer Alaska Motorcycle Expedition for Summer 2025. I will be leaving from Los Angeles and traveling to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. As a cancer survivor I have decided to do this for the American Cancer Society.

Please make comments if you see something that you think would be better or about what I am choosing. Do you agree with it or do you think I am going about it wrong? I have a lot of preparation and welcome everyones constructive comments.

I will be writing more of these up for other types of gear that I will be needing and thanks for everyones help.

 MSR Whisperlite Universal Stove

I like the ability to use Propane, Kerosene or Gas. Sometimes it is very difficult to find propane in off the grid locations and I can just use the gas from my motorcycle.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

MSR WindBurner Ceramic Skillet

I have been using this skillet for years and it hasnt let me down! Great heat dissipation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

MSR MiniWorks® EX Water Purifier System

Extremely well made and doesnt have a strong charcoal after taste like others.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

⦁ Military Utensil Set and Canteen
⦁ Tongs and Spatula
⦁ 2 Stainless Plates and Titanium Cup with Lid
⦁ Spices and Olive Oil
⦁ Biodegradable Soap, Brillo Pad and Rag
⦁ Spare Propane Bottle
⦁ Aluminum Foil and Ziplock Bag
⦁ Cigarette Lighters and Magnesium Rod
⦁ Foldable cutting board and Knife
⦁ Wind Deflector for stove
⦁ P38 Can OpenerImage attachmentImage attachment+1Image attachment

Working on the Life Of An Adventurer Alaska Expedition this June and July and who knows, maybe into August. This is going to be an EPIC Experience that will be a ride for the American Cancer Society.
We are looking to meet up with people on the way to Anchorage, Alaska and spend a few days there before we leave en route to Prudhoe Bay with a stop in Fairbanks to celebrate July 4th.
We are looking for places to stay, things to see and people to meet up with. Please reach out to us to offer suggestions.
The Link is the tentative map route we will be following.

As a lot of you know, I will be riding motorcycles from Los Angeles, California to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska during the summer of 2025. I will be riding for the American Cancer Society and The City Of Hope Hospital due to the fact that I am a two time Cancer Survivor as well as the President of Life Of An Adventurer which is based in California and Mexico.
With an Expeidition of this size a lot of planning is required such as accomodations, gear, medical, electronics, motorcycle mantinence, cooking, cameras and the list goes on and on. I will be breaking down what is required and what I will be bringing. Unfortunately there is not a lot of room to carry gear and I will be very selective. I will be doing write ups and testing in the next 8 months for what works and doesnt. I will be reading , learningand working so that I am ready for the voyage
Due to the severity of the the terrain and the different types of landscape we will encounter we must keep weight down and remember that when you are in the middle of nowhere you as well as equipment must be in the best shape and condition.
Like always we will be happy to receive suggestions of things to do, where to go and what to use. Please reach out to us and follow our Journey at www.LifeOfAnAdventurer.com It is true they say that the first step is the most difficult, but I have begun with the first step and know that there are many many more to come

The first time we went to Monache Meadows to meet up with Mark and Wonder Offroad late in the evening when it started to rain and flash flood! We had never been before so we didn't exactly know where we were going so we were literally in the dark on that slippery trail all alone, we some how made it!
